About Christa Krohn

Christa Krohn is the Executive Vice President of Social Enterprise and Strategy at Future Plans, where she develops enterprise opportunities that sustain the organization’s mission-critical work of ending poverty and leads overall organizational strategy.

With more than 20 years of experience across PK–12 and higher education, Christa brings both a practitioner’s perspective and the expertise of a seasoned consultant. Her career has included roles as a teacher, gifted educator, adjunct professor, curriculum specialist, instructional coach, and executive leader. She also founded and led organizations focused on strengthening education systems and workforce pathways. These experiences give her a unique ability to see both the individual and organizational sides of change.

As a consultant, Christa has partnered with nonprofits, public agencies, philanthropy, and industry to design strategies that expand opportunity, strengthen workforce readiness, and build sustainable models for economic mobility—particularly in under-resourced communities. She has led projects that secured and managed large-scale grants, statewide initiatives, launched digital fabrication and innovation labs, and facilitated strategic planning with state education agencies, philanthropic foundations, and community leaders. Her work often sits at the intersection of education, workforce, and economic development—helping partners align efforts to achieve long-term impact.

A contributor to the Global STEM Learning Ecosystems, Christa is widely recognized for her ability to build partnerships that connect people, ideas, and resources in service of shared goals. She has spoken nationally and regionally as a keynote presenter, and workshop facilitator, and has led AI education and workforce summits across the U.S., including in rural and Indigenous communities.

She has also contributed her expertise through volunteer service, having served as the Executive Director of Learning Forward Ohio, as a member of various academic boards, and as a judge for the National STEM Fest.

When she’s not working, Christa and her husband enjoy life as empty nesters outside of Cleveland, Ohio, where she grows dinner plate dahlias, and enjoys the oddly relaxing task of mowing the lawn on a zero-turn mower. She is also devoted to Mr. Beans, the family golden doodle, who bravely navigates his irrational fear of crossing from one type of flooring to another.
