About Alison Bragg
As the Senior Director of Growing Rural Independence Together (GRIT), Alison Bragg leads regional efforts across Appalachian Ohio to help individuals discover their strengths and build meaningful, well‑paying career pathways. She oversees a team working in 32 counties, ensuring people have access to the resources, support, and opportunities they need to shape brighter futures for themselves and their communities.
Growing up in Pike County, Alison developed a deep understanding of the strengths and challenges unique to rural life. This personal connection fuels her commitment to empowering individuals—meeting them where they are, removing barriers, and ensuring every person has a fair chance to succeed.
In her day‑to‑day work, Alison supports Community Outreach Partners, collaborates with schools and employers, oversees programming, and guides initiatives that connect education with real career outcomes. Her leadership is focused on strengthening community‑based outreach, expanding career exploration opportunities, and ensuring consistency and measurable impact across all GRIT counties.
Her role is rooted in partnership and trust. Alison works closely with schools, career centers, colleges, employers, workforce agencies, and community organizations, aligning efforts around a shared goal: creating pathways that work for real people in real communities.
Known for her relationship‑building, empathy, and strategic thinking, Alison excels at listening first, connecting systems, and empowering teams to deliver meaningful, people‑centered results. With a background in business, she combines strategy, organization, and community insight to lead programs that create sustainable opportunities across the region.
Guided by values of equity, access, collaboration, and personal agency, she approaches every challenge with a commitment to centering people and designing solutions alongside the communities they’re meant to serve.
Outside of work, Alison and her husband are renovating one of the original schoolhouses in Pike County—a labor of love that reflects her passion for history, community, and building a life rooted in the place she calls home.
