Future Plans continues to make remarkable strides in shaping the future of young individuals and adults through strategic initiatives and partnerships.
Our latest achievements reflect our growing influence and commitment to ending poverty one individual at a time by accelerating each individual’s career launch, resulting in a healthy, more fulfilling, purposeful, and financially prosperous life.
Expanding Career Readiness
Under the direction of Future Plans, the GRIT Project has successfully guided over 6,000 adults and 20,000 youth through its 5-Step Career Development Process, which has been implemented in more than 90 schools and communities.
1-on-1 Coaching
Every high school student in the Future Plans program has an opportunity for a 1-on-1 coaching session with a certified career coach. On average, students “liked” the career coaching experience at a rate of 4.67 (on a scale of 1-5) and reported “feeling clearer about my career options” at a rate of 4.56.
Bridging the Counseling Gap
Nationally, the student-to-counselor ratio averages 400:1, leaving many students without vital career guidance. Future Plans’ shared funding model effectively closes this gap by funding career navigators in 24 schools involved with a pilot program for the 2024-25 school year. These navigators help students develop a career plan while guiding individuals into career experiences that help them discover their passion.
Unprecedented Growth
In less than five years, Future Plans has expanded its footprint from a single county to 32 Ohio Appalachian counties, including 12 in the northwest and one in the northeast, for an over 50% reach across Ohio.
These milestones underscore our mission-driven approach and the tangible impact of our initiatives. As we move forward, Future Plans remains dedicated to scaling these efforts and ensuring every student has the guidance and resources needed for a successful career path.
We thank all of our supporters for making these achievements possible.
